Science Readers: Producers and Consumers

Producers and Consumers is an expository text that explains the concepts of producers, consumers, and the transfer of energy in the food cycle.  An activity invites students to explore the best way to make food decompose. 

The book is divided into sections with some subsections.  Sentences vary in length and structure.  Labeled photographs and diagrams support and extend the text. Fact boxes add interest. Italics are used for emphasis. A table of contents, glossary and index are provided.
