Science Readers: Adaptations

Adaptations is an expository text that explains how animals adapt and change over time as conditions change.  An activity invites students to explore how blubber works.

The book is divided into sections with some subsections.  Sentences vary in length and structure.  Labeled photographs and diagrams support and extend the text.  Fact boxes add interest. Italics are used for emphasis. A table of contents, glossary and index are provided.

Glossary words are bold faced throughout the text.
