Science Readers: Inside a Plant
Inside a Plant is an informational text that explains the life cycle of a plant, as well as the parts of a plant and how plants grow. A two-page activity written in procedural language invites students to explore how plants get water to all of their parts.
Inside a Plant is divided into sections. Illustrations, including labeled photos and diagrams, are used to convey information. Punctuation includes periods, commas, question marks, and exclamation marks. Fact boxes provide additional information. A table of contents, a glossary and an index support the reader.
A pronunciation guide is provided for some words, such as cycle (SAHY-kuhl). Glossary words are bold faced throughout the text.
