I Like Elephants
I Like Elephants is a realistic fiction story about the different animals that children like. A boy at the end says “shoo!” to the monkeys, birds, and bears. He likes the elephants. Readers gain information from the text, illustrations, storyboard, and speech bubbles.
I Like Elephants uses the sentence stem “I like…” Illustrations match the text. The story includes triggering in questions. There are critical thinking questions to guide the reader. A teacher guide for reading the text and visual information is provided for teachers to draw students’ attention to illustrations, starting points, and speech bubbles.
