Turtle Island Voices: Night Danger

Night Danger is a realistic story about a K’ómoks First Nation boy who goes with friends on a mountain biking trip and becomes the group’s unlikely saviour when a grizzly bear threatens.  Drawing on his grandfather’s teachings, the boy finds that he is strong and confident.   The book concludes with Turtle Island Circle, a feature that prompts making connections.

The book has a Contents and is divided into chapters.  A variety of sentence types is used.  Illustrations add interest but most scenes are not illustrated.

The vocabulary reflects the everyday speech of children.
