Turtle Island Voices 2: Night and Day

Night and Day is a retelling of a traditional Secwepemc story in which Coyote and Grizzly Bear reach a compromise about the balance of day and night, leaving Sun to control the days and Moon to control the seasons. The book concludes with Teachings from Turtle Island and Turtle Island Circle, features that provide additional information and prompt reflection and extension.

All the sentences are short and simple.  Illustrations support the text directly.  Quotation marks are used in dialogue.

The vocabulary reflects the everyday speech of children.
