Buniq’s Boots is a realistic story about an Inuit girl’s decision to tell the truth when she loses the boots her grandmother has made for her.  The story takes place in the Arctic.  The book concludes with Teachings from Turtle Island and Turtle Island Circle, features that provide additional information and prompt reflection and extension.

All the sentences are short and simple.  Beautiful illustrations support the text directly.  Quotation marks are used in dialogue.

The vocabulary reflects the everyday speech of children.
