Science Readers: Growth and Change
Growth and Change is an informational text that explains what animals need to survive and how they grow and change. A two-page activity written in procedural language invites students to explore what animals near them need to live.
The text is divided into sections. Illustrations match the text directly. Punctuation includes periods, commas, and exclamation marks. Fact boxes provide additional information. A table of contents, a glossary and an index support the reader.
Comparative adjectives such as bigger and hairier are used. A pronunciation guide is provided for some words, such as basic (BEY-sik). Glossary words are bold faced throughout the text.
