Science Readers: Animal Senses

9781480746787

Animal Senses is an expository text that explains how animals use their senses, often in ways very different from how humans do.  An activity invites students to explore how the shape of an animal’s body parts relates to its abilities.

The book is divided into sections with some subsections.  Sentences vary in length and structure.  Labeled photographs and diagrams support and and extend the text. Fact boxes add interest. Italics are used to introduce new words and dashes are used to expand on an idea. A table of contents, glossary and index support the reader.

Glossary words are bold faced throughout the text.
