Grandpa's Mumbling House

Grandpa’s Mumbling House is a personal recount by a girl going to stay with her grandpa in his house by the sea while her mom and dad move into separate houses. The book also discusses text connections, planning a personal recount, and features of a personal recount. 

The first-person text is divided into chapters and a Contents is provided.  A variety of sentence types is used.  Illustrations support and enhance the text. Text boxes call attention to literary features such as analogy, alliteration, imagery, personification, similes, and metaphors and prompt the use of comprehension strategies, such as questioning, predicting, inferring, analyzing, and clarifying.

The text uses descriptive language.
