Watch Out for Trash Cans!

Watch Out for Rubbish Bins! is a humorous, animal fantasy about Big Bird who wants to teach Little Bird how to fly, how to fish, and how to land. When teaching him how to get food from a trash can, Big Bird falls in through the lid of the trash can and is released when a garbage truck comes by. Dialogue is used between two characters.

Illustrations add meaning and interest. Speech bubbles are used and multiple images are shown to depict motion and movement.

Adjectives are used. To conclude, a rebus is shown with written and visual text. In addition, simple activities that include oral, written, and visual communication are presented in the Teacher’s Guide Notes.
