Time Quest

Time Quest is a science fiction story.  Tonk, who lives on an Earth satellite, is accosted by a hideous time traveller who wants to steal Tonk’s life preserver.  Fortunately, Tonk remembers what he’s learned about time travel in school, and he outsmarts the traveller.  The story is told in dialogue and narrative.

The story has a problem solution structure.  The text is composed of a variety of sentence types.  Illustrations support the text but not all events are illustrated.  Dashes and ellipses are used.  Boldface is used for emphasis.  The book concludes with a two-page spread that tells how to write a science fiction story.

Some words may require clarification: satchel, sour-smelling, gag, protruded, skewed, membrane, implode, grimace, wrenched, immense.  Similes: as if each feature had been plonked hurriedly in its place.
