The Robber's Mask

The Robber’s Mask is a narrative about a golden retriever named Cassie who loves to collect things from around the neighbourhood. One day she brings home a mask that matches the masks robbers wore in a bank robbery. With Cassie’s help, the police are able to catch the robbers. The book also discusses text connections, planning a narrative story, and features of a narrative story.

A variety of sentence types is used.  Illustrations support and enhance the text. Text boxes call attention to literary features such as similes, and prompt the use of comprehension strategies, such as predicting and inferring.
