Taanishi: What do you Like on Your Beignes?

What Do You Like On Your Beignes? is a realistic story about a Métis boy having a beigne lunch with his grandmother.  The inside front cover offers cultural background information and the inside back cover provides instructional suggestions.

The text follows a pattern.  On each page, the grandmother asks “Do you want ________ on your beigne?” and Hungry Harry replies, “No thanks!”  Photographs support the text directly.  Quotation and exclamation marks are used.

Potentially unfamiliar words are defined in the glossary, such cinnamon and kohkum.
