Squid Monster

Squid Monster is a recount about two divers who go cave diving only to be attacked by a giant squid.  The book also discusses text connections, planning a recount, and features of a recount.

A variety of sentence types is used.  Illustrations support and enhance the text. Text boxes call attention to literary features such as similes, and prompt the use of comprehension strategies, such as predicting and inferring.
