Monsters of Burwood is a fictional text that outlines the various rules that these monsters live by. These rules include rules about how to eat, where to live, how to be a good monster, and how to scare others.

There is a variation in sentence length and structure. There are many antonyms, homonyms, and adjectives. To conclude, a two-page spread on rules is presented where students are encouraged to take part in an activity where they make their own rule, talk about the importance of that rule, create a list giving examples, and think about an efficient way to present the rules.
