Spy Mail

Spy Mail is a narrative about a man who comes back from a spy mission and has to respond to his mail, some of it formal, some informal, some in letter form and some in emails. The book also discusses text connections, planning formal and informal writing, and features of a formal and informal writing.  

A variety of sentence types is used.  The story is told in the first-person through letters and emails.  Illustrations support and enhance the text. Text boxes prompt the use of comprehension strategies, such as questioning and clarifying understanding.

Some formal language, such as Dear Sir/Madam, is used.
