Scarecrow’s Hair is a lighthearted fantasy about a scarecrow who is sad because he has no hair and a farmer who goes to great lengths to make his scarecrow happy.  The story is told through simple dialogue and narrative with numerous repeated language patterns.

The story has a problem/solution structure.  All the sentences are short and largely predictable.  Scarecrow appears as a character name and is capitalized.  Quotation marks are used in dialogue.  Humorous illustrations support the text directly and add meaning.  Two advertisements are included (one seeking help in finding the lost hair and a second seeking to buy scarecrow shoes) are included.
