Nonfiction Readers K: My Birthday Party

My Birthday Party is a nonfiction, picture book that invites students to explore whether items in images are less than, more than, or equal to the number 6. Images are composed of objects that would typically be found at a birthday party.

Photographs support the text. Students gain understanding through counting the images on each page and comparing to other images as well as text.

One syllable words and two syllable words are repeated beneath each image. The Words to Know list includes the words equal, friends and birthday.
