Jungle Race Day

Jungle Race Day is a humorous animal fantasy about an unusual race.  Elephant, Lion, and Giraffe have wheels but Rabbit does not.  The monkeys predict Rabbit will lose, but in a funny twist, Rabbit triumphs.  Several repeating language patterns tell the story in dialogue and simple narrative.

All the sentences are short and predictable.  Humorous illustrations match the text directly and add meaning.  The characters’ names are capitalized, as in Lion.  Quotation marks and speech balloons are used in dialogue.  Exclamation marks and bold face are used for emphasis. 

Interest words include hippo, track, giraffe, fell, and jumped.  The positional words down, over, and up are used.
