I Am Working

I Am Working is a humorous fantasy about a busy little monster.  The book focuses on the sentence stem “I am ___________.”

All the sentences are short and predictable.  On each two-page spread multiple illustrations support the text.  The concluding spread has three three-panel illustrations with accompanying speech balloons that invite readers to retell and extend the story.

The high frequency words are I and am.  The initial consonant w appears in working and washing.  All the verbs have the -ing inflection.
