I Am Here

I Am Here is a humorous and fictional animal fantasy story about different insects announcing that they are here. The snail shows up on the gardener’s dinner plate! Readers gain information from the text, illustrations, dialogue, storyboard, and caption.

I Am Here uses a sentence stem (“I am here,” said the _____.). Illustrations match the text. The story includes triggering in questions. There are critical thinking questions to guide the reader. A teacher guide for reading the text and visual information is provided for teachers to draw students’ attention to illustrations, starting points, and caption. There is a high frequency word list within an illustration at the end of the story.
