Hats

Hats is a whimsical animal fantasy.  On each two-page spread a bear tells what kind of hat it likes, using the repeating language pattern “I like hats and __________.”  In the end, a judge awards first prize to the bear who likes “hats and berries,” helping himself to a berry.

All the sentences are short and predictable.  Humorous illustrations match the text directly. 

The high frequency words are I, like, and, and.  The initial consonant f appears in the words feathers and fish.
