Fiction Readers: Cleopatra's Report

Cleopatra’s Report is a fantasy, adventure story about a little girl who traveled from mars to a new planet with her family to see how they lived. When she comes back to Mars she shares the adventure with her class.  

The story unfolds chronologically in third-person narrative following a single plot line.  The format is beginning chapter book with illustrations that support and enhance the text.

Cleopatra’s Report uses some simple adjectives, descriptive language, and possessives such as students’, Bradbury’s, Jay’s, and Cleopatra’s. The text uses several sentences that begin with subordinate clauses or phrases and some compound sentences involving simple connectives.  A lot of dialogue is presented within the text in a variety of ways, including dialogue from multiple characters and unassigned dialogue.
