Fiction Readers: A Baseball Giant

A Baseball Giant is a realistic fiction based on true events involving a dad telling his son all about Eiji Sawamura, one of the greatest Japanese baseball players of all time.

The story unfolds chronologically in third-person narrative following a single plot line.  The format is a beginning chapter book with illustrations that support and enhance the text. 

A Baseball Giant uses several sentences that begin with subordinate clauses, phrases, or transitional words. The text uses some compound sentences involving simple connectives. A lot of dialogue is presented within the text in a variety of ways, including dialogue from multiple characters and unassigned dialogue.
