Eggs, Eggs, Eggs is a humorous story.  Mr. McQuire’s hens won’t lay eggs.  At his wife’s suggestion, he knits them colourful socks, hats, and coats.  But the hens won’t lay eggs until they can build their own nests, and then Mr. McQuire decides they need egg warmers! Several repeating language patterns tell the story in dialogue and simple narrative.

The story has a beginning, middle end text structure.  Simple and compound sentences are used.  Quotation marks, exclamation marks, and commas are used. Bold face is used for emphasis.  Humorous illustrations support the text directly and add meaning.  Illustration bubbles show what characters are thinking.
