Destination Planet Blobb

Destination Planet Blobb is an engaging fantasy about two creatures, Zena and Zolta, who go on a trip to explore Planet Blobb. Characters are revealed by what they do and say.

There is a variety of layout in both illustrations and print throughout the text. Speech bubbles are used to convey dialogue. There are various signs on each page that inform readers about Planet Blobb as well as the expectations and proper behaviours that visitors are to follow. Visuals such as arrows add meaning to the signs.  In addition, there are various opportunities for students to break codes that are written in Planet Blobb’s secret language.

Adjectives, such as giant, enormous, and dangerous, are used. To conclude, a two-page spread introduces the importance of signs and instructs children how to write a sign by following five steps.
