Crumpet, the Cat BIG BOOK

Crumpet, the Cat is a humorous story.  Lilly tells her cat Crumpet that he’s a good cat, but Crumpet winks, knowing that when Lilly’s away, the other cats come to play.  Several repeating language patterns tell the story in dialogue and simple narrative.

The story has a beginning, middle end text structure.  Simple and compound sentences are used, as well as a sentence that begins with a dependent clause.  Quotation marks, exclamation marks, ellipses, and commas are used. Bold face is used for emphasis.  Colourful display type is used in text and illustrations to enhance meaning.  Humorous illustrations support the text directly and add meaning. 

The contractions that’s and you’re are used.  Interest words include wink, danced, bounced, crack, and smack.
