You Can Have a Party Anywhere is a humorous and realistic fiction story about a boy, Tom, who was embarrassed to go to a party in his silver spacesuit. The day did not get better when his mom’s truck broke down and the people backed up behind them started to get angry. A friendly man called for help and started a party on the road for Tom! The story is narrated with dialogue, thought bubbles, speech bubbles, and onomatopoeia.

You Can Have a Party Anywhere is a simple narrative story. Critical thinking questions are provided to guide the reader. Illustrations match the text. A visual information guide is provided for teachers to draw students’ attention to the purpose of illustrative fonts as well as the information, layout, and design of invitations. There is an infographic at the end of the story illustrating how invitations can look different. There is an invitation card and an email invitation. An activity on designing an invitation to a parent/guardian for a class party is provided for teachers to extend students’ learning.
