Eagle Girl is a realistic story about two Okanagan teens who discover they are shape-shifters.   Sparks fly between them until they resolve to put aside the historical feud between their two families and to get to know each other as individuals.  The story is told in a graphic format.  The book concludes with Reflecting on the Story and Turtle Island Circle, features that provide additional information and prompt reflection and extension.

The book has a Contents and is divided into chapters.  A variety of sentence types is used.  Narrative captions, speech and thought bubbles, and illustrations tell the story.

The vocabulary reflects the everyday speech of children.
