The Market

The Market is a humorous and realistic fiction story about mom and daughter shopping together. The daughter takes her to the balloon stand, but a bird pops one of the balloons! She buys the balloons, and they lift her off the ground. Readers gain information from the text, illustrations, signs, and speech bubble.

The Market uses the sentence stem “Come and see the _____.” Illustrations match the text. The story includes triggering in questions. There are critical thinking questions to guide the reader.
