The Fire Zenith

The Fire Zenith is a fantasy about a man named Malek who uses an animal called a fire zenith to put on a show. When the creature won’t perform, Malek is worried that the audience will be unhappy. He captures another fire zenith but this one won’t perform either, that is until both creatures are reunited and put on a show together. The book also discusses text connections, planning a fantasy, and features of a fantasy.

A variety of sentence types is used.  Illustrations support and enhance the text. Text boxes call attention to literary features such as alliteration, similes, and metaphors, and prompt the use of comprehension strategies, such as predicting, questioning, and summarizing.

The text uses descriptive language.
