The Bike Race

The Bike Race is a realistic adventure about a boy who bikes through mud, grass, sand, and a pond before landing in a hole.  Finally, the well-used bike goes in a truck!  The text features the repeating language pattern “Look at the bike go in the.”

All the sentences are short and predictable.  Humorous illustrations match the text directly.  An inset map on each two-page spread invites readers to predict where the bike will land next.  One page has a speech balloon.
