The Amazing Machine LITTLE BOOK

The Amazing Machine is a humorous story about neighbours who build the same amazing machine – and neither machine performs in the way its inventor planned.  When they collaborate, both are pleased with the results.  The story is told in dialogue and narrative, and several repeating language patterns are used.

The story is told as a sequence of events.  A variety of sentence types are used.  Quotation marks, exclamation marks, question marks, ellipses, apostrophes, and commas are used. Bold face is used for emphasis.  Large, colourful display type is used in text and art to enhance meaning.  Humorous illustrations support the text directly and add meaning.

Interest words include inventor, stupendous, and fantastic.  The similes fast as an arrow, fast as a dart, and fast as the speed of sound are used.
