Submarine Rescue

There is an infographic at the end of the book outlining the different components of Reports. An activity on providing details under a heading is provided for teachers to extend students’ learning.
Readers develop vocabulary such nouns (rescuers), verbs (sends), and singular/plural (country/countries). Focus students’ attention on adjectives, homonyms, antonyms, and synonyms. Opportunities arise to discuss abbreviations (DSRV) and quotes denoting unusual use (“newsuit”). Focus on long and short vowel i and look at suffixes ous (dangerous) and ly (quickly).
