Stop That Pup
Stop That Pup! is a realistic narrative about how difficult – and distressing – it can be to walk a rambunctious puppy. The story is told in dialogue and narrative.
The text is composed of a variety of sentence types. Illustrations support the text but not all events are illustrated. Quotation marks, exclamation marks, and dashes are used. Large, colourful display type is used for emphasis. The book concludes with a two-page spread explaining the characteristics of a narrative.
Some words may require clarification: slurp, stooped, muttered, dashed, plunged, gulped. Simile: like a fluffy golden ball. The suffixes -y (fluffy, muddy), -ed (flicked), and -ly (gently) are used. The prefixes -un (untangled, unfriendly) and -dis (disappeared) are used.
