Nonfiction Readers 1: Shapes

Shapes is a nonfiction picture book that introduces children to different shapes and encourages them to locate these shapes in their immediate environment. A simple, repetitive language pattern is used.

Images fully support text. Side by side, everyday objects and the corresponding shapes of those objects, are presented. Illustrations are very simple with no distracting detail.

Concept words are illustrated by pictures. The text is comprised of mostly one and two syllable words. A Words to Know list is included at the end of the book.
