Poppa is a realistic fiction story about a girl named Sally who accidently let her budgie bird out of its cage. Her budgie went missing and Sally was really upset. She decided to go stay with her Poppa to cheer herself up. While on a walk, she saw some Oysterchatchers tangled in fishing line. Poppa and Sally saved the birds, which made her feel really proud. The story is narrated with text and speech bubbles.

Poppa is a simple narrative story. Critical thinking questions are provided to guide the reader. Illustrations match the text.
