Living Together
Living Together is an expository text about animals who have mutual relationships with one another. For example, it is discussed that a bird who lives on a tortoise’s back takes care of the tortoise and clean its shell.
Illustrations support the text. Animals who are cleaned, as well as the animals who do the cleaning, are labeled.
There are mostly one and two syllable words. Interest words include buffalo, crocodile, and giraffe. To conclude, an index is presented. In the Guide Notes for teachers, an activity that requires students to draw pictures of the different ways animals help one another is suggested.
