Little Goat's Coat BIG BOOK

Little Goat’s Coat is a humorous and informative animal fantasy.  When Little Goat’s beautiful coat starts falling out, the animals make him worry he’ll soon be bare.  His mother reassures him that he will get a summer coat just like hers.  In the end, Little Goat likes his summer coat. The story is told in simple repeating language patterns with both dialogue and narrative.

The story has a beginning, middle end text structure.  All the sentences are short and largely predictable.  Quotation marks, exclamation marks, commas, and ellipses are used.  Bold face is used for emphasis.  An artistic font is used in the text to enhance meaning.  All the characters (Little Goat, Bull, Horse, and so on) have capitalized names.  Humorous illustrations support the text directly and add meaning.

The contractions don’t, it’s, you’ll, and I’ll are used.  Interest words include coat, bull, goose, horse, and bare.
