In My Opinion

In My Opinion … is a collection of student-composed persuasive arguments about key issues, such as replacing teachers with computers, banning pets, and switching to electronic books.  The style is personal and conversational.

Section heading divide the book into three main sections.  The text is composed of a variety of sentence types.  Illustrations and speech balloons help provide a context for the text.  Quotation marks, exclamation marks, and colons are used.  The book concludes with a two-page spread that provides the characteristics of persuasive arguments.

Some words may require clarification: issues, persuade, pace, graphics, selfish, species.
