Flower Power

Flower Power is a narrative about Lizzie, whose desire for a bike is so great that she hits on a sneaky plan to earn money: selling her florist mom’s garden flowers while her mom is away at work.  Lizzie’s mom has an interesting way of getting at the truth and an idea for how Lizzie can earn her bike.  The story is told in dialogue and narrative.

The story has a problem solution structure.  The text is composed of a variety of sentence types.  Illustrations support the text but not all events are shown.  Boldface and italic are used.  The book concludes with a two-page spread that tells how to write a narrative.

Some words may require clarification: floral, dismantling, calculations, functions, quavered.  Similes: like a whirlwind, as cunning as a cougar.
