Finding Their Way

Finding Their Way is an informational explanation of some interesting methods animals use to navigate.  The book describes how various birds, sea creatures, mammals, and insects maintain their sense of direction using the stars, the sun, or Earth’s magnetic field.  The style is informative and conversational.

The book has a contents and is divided into eight sections.  Section headings are used.  The text is composed of a variety of sentence types.  Captioned and labelled photographs and diagrams support the text and add meaning.  An index is provided.  The book concludes with a two-page spread that tells how to write an informational explanation.
