Coyote: A Trickster Tale is an animal story about a coyote who wishes he could fly like the crows, soar like the eagles, and glide like the hawks but some tricky crows take advantage of his wishes and get coyote into some trouble. 

The story unfolds chronologically in third-person narrative following a single plot line.  The format is beginning chapter book with illustrations that support and enhance the text. 

Coyote: A Trickster Tale uses some sentences that begin with subordinate clauses, phrases, or transitional words. The text uses a wide variety of punctuation (period, comma, quotation marks, question marks, and exclamation points). A lot of dialogue is presented within the text in a variety of ways, including dialogue from multiple characters and unassigned dialogue.
