Fearless Phil is a humorous story.  While climbing the mountains, Phil tells a lion, a wolf, and a bear that he’s invincible and scares them all away, but when Phil takes a nap, a mouse proves that Phil is not invincible.  The story is told in dialogue and narrative, and several repeating language patterns are used.

The story is told as a sequence of events.  A variety of sentence types are used.  Quotation marks, exclamation marks, question marks, ellipses, apostrophes, and commas are used. Bold face is used for emphasis.  An artistic font is used in text to enhance meaning.  Humorous illustrations support the text directly and add meaning.

Interest words include fearless, rumbled, snarling, menacing, flexed, and bolted.  The similes fast as light and like the rocks in a river are used.
