Elephant is Stuck! BIG BOOK

Elephant Is Stuck! is a humorous animal fantasy.  When Elephant gets stuck in a hole, Lion and Tiger are not tough enough to get him out, but Mouse has a trick and proves he’s tough enough to get the job done.  The story is told in simple, repeating language patterns using both dialogue and narrative.

The story has a beginning, middle end text structure.  All the sentences are short and largely predictable.  Elephant, Lion, Tiger, and Mouse are capitalized names.  Quotation marks, exclamation marks, commas, and ellipses are used.  Bold face is used for emphasis.  Large, colourful display type is used to convey meaning about sounds and movement.  Humorous illustrations support the text directly and add meaning.

The contractions can’t, didn’t, and I’m are used.  Interest words include thump, wump, wiggle, and jiggle.
