Do Rules Rule?

Do Rules Rule? is a persuasive argument text.  Mr. Chan asks his class the question “Do Rules Rule?”  In groups of three students share arguments for and against common rules, such as no cell phones at school and no pets on school property.  The style is personal and conversational.

Most of the text is in the first person.  The text is composed of a variety of sentence types.  Illustrations support the text but not all events are illustrated.  Most of the text is contained in speech balloons.  The book concludes with a two-page spread that tells how to write persuasive arguments.

Some words may require clarification: reputation, ridiculous, annoying, responsible, final straw, strictly, situation, clamour, complicated.
