Billy McBrown

Billy McBrown is a humorous story.  Billy observes that all the people in his town just frown, and he resolves to make them laugh.  He discovers that it takes a lot of clowning to stop the frowning, but he perseveres and succeeds.  Several repeating language patterns tell the story in dialogue and simple narrative.

The story has a beginning, middle end text structure.  Simple and compound sentences are used.  Quotation marks, exclamation marks, ellipses and commas are used. Bold face is used for emphasis.  Colourful display type is used in text and illustrations to enhance meaning.  Humorous illustrations support the text directly and add meaning. 

The contraction won’t is used.  Interest words include frown, jiggle, waddle, and clowning.
