Between the Flags

Between the Flags is an informational report on safety at the beach.  The book describes how lifeguards work and how swimmers can help themselves avoid or escape danger.  The style is informative and conversational.

The book has a contents and is divided into six sections.  Section headings are used.  The text is composed of a variety of sentence types.  Labelled photographs, diagrams, bulleted lists, and sidebars support the text and add meaning.  An index is provided.  The book concludes with a two-page spread that tells how to write an informational report.
