Bad Guys and Gals of the Wild West

Bad Guys and Gals of the Wild West is an expository non-fiction text about famous criminals from the Wild West, including Jesse James, Belle Starr, Doc Holliday, Billy the Kid, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and Pearl Hart. The style of the second-person text is conversational and informative.

A variety of sentence types is used.  Information is presented by the main text, captioned photographs, illustrations, timelines, and text boxes that highlight definitions and interesting facts.  Some text is in the form of a bulleted list.  A Contents, glossary, index, bibliography, and websites for further research are provided. 

Some new terminology such as frontier, seamstress, and tuberculosis is defined in context.
